Sweet Briar Alexander Technique Residential
Celebrating the 33rd anniversary, offering a 5 day residential learning opportunity with a faculty of nationally known senior teachers, including ATTGW member Carol Boggs, the Sweet Briar course
serves beginning students, continuing students, teachers-in-training, and teachers seeking to refresh and renew. This year, in addition to a live band country dance, and end of week performance and after party, there will be two special presentations addressing The Alexander Technique, the Mind and the Brain.
Dr. Remi Nader, neuroscientist and Michael Gelb, AT teacher and author of his new book, Brain Power: Improve your Mind as you Age will each share their cutting-edge insights. Alexander Technique at Sevenoaks
Annual five day intensive, held each summer in Madison, Virginia (near Charlottesville, Virginia). The faculty includes Meade Andrews, Jan Baty, Dale Beaver, Cynthia Mauney, Teresa Lee and Antoinette Kranenburg. We invite you to join us at the Sevenoaks Retreat Center, near Charlottesville, Virginia, for our annual Residential Course. Long time returning participants, beginning and advanced students, along with teachers who wish to deepen their skills will come together again in a supportive, nourishing, learning community. Monday Morning Musicians' Meeting - every Monday, "at the crack of noon"
Find out how the Alexander Technique can be a constant influence to improve your comfort and your performance. This is an opportunity to drop in regularly and get an Alexander mini-lesson, and also learn from observing the lessons of others. We'll be playing with sitting, standing, and holding your instrument. Class size: 4 to 6 people. All are welcome; this class will focus on musicians. teacher: David Jernigan

Robin Gilmore directs a three-year teacher training program in Greensboro, NC. The program meets monthly for 2-4 days with a faculty that includes Glenna Batson, Bill Conable, Diana Bradley, Sarah Barker, Bob Lada and others. in North Carolina. Trainees also attend several longer residential courses throughout the year and have private lessons with one or more approved teachers.
